Early Day

sunset or sunrise (early day)

Early Day

I’m still awake in the morning
By the dark of early day
The air around me is lonely –
Carries a chill from the bay.
Is my countenance deceiving,
Do I chase sincerity away?
I wonder how many people can indulge in
And thrive in disarray.
I wake in the evening
By the light of dying day
You can make my bed without me,
It’s still cold here where you lay.
A description misleads me
And the right words to say
Seem so daunting and ancient,
Seem so needless today.
When Heaven is far gone
And the world starts to fray,
Come, tell me your secrets,
Let me steal your dismay.
